Organisational Sustainability
While Organisational Health has traditionally focused on sustaining Organisational Performance and Employee Well-being, there has been a third factor that has been largely silent: That is environmental sustainabiliy.
Together they reflect at an organisational level Social, Economic and Environmental Sustainability systems, translated as Well-being, Productivity, and natural Resource sustainability respectively.
Addressing all three areas in an integrated and long term sustainable way is a new and growing area of importance facing organisations whether they are private, public sector, or NGOs.
How does an organisation continue to be "economically" sustainable while also addressing the pressing need to adapt and become not just better at improving employee and community well-being (social sustainability), but also address and successfully overcome the increasing costs and risks from using (and wasting) limited natural resources (environmmental sustainability)?
Organisational Sustainability involves using Life Cycle Sustainability Assessments in various ways and, through a systems approach, developing and improving Organisational Health across Social, Economic and Environmental Sustainability Factors.
